History of the Struggle

The pages under this topic will attempt to document the work of bereaved family members of soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen killed in what were termed “non-combat” situations.  In each case, the deaths were not properly investigated and there was reason to believe that the cause of death was
questionable.

In desperation, these families went to the Congress and Senate to attempt to persuade our political leaders that rules and laws needed to be created to do a better job of investigation.  As a result, some laws and directives were formulated.  These are outlined in Part Two.

Part One is a summarization of what the families did to further their objectives.
